Beat the Backlist Challenge (2021)

One of my biggest reading resolutions for 2021 (aside from not buying every shiny new release that catches my eye) is to read more of the books that I already own. I have so many books on my bookshelf that I purchased, intended to read, and just… never did. To keep myself motivated and accountable, I’m joining a reading challenge!

The Beat the Backlist Challenge is hosted by NovelKnight and challenges readers to read books that were published in 2020 or earlier. When I participated last year, I read 27 backlist titles that had been on my TBR. This year, I’m aiming to read 20 backlist titles that I haven’t already read.

I’m not going to make a defined TBR for this since I already know I’ll deviate from it, but I will track the books that I read for the challenge below once the challenge officially starts.

  1. Beach Read by Emily Henry (pub: 2020; my review)
  2. The Burning God by R.F. Kuang (pub: 2020)
