January 2020: Monthly Wrap-Up

I honestly can’t wait for February. Sure, the temperatures are usually ridiculously cold (love those Canadian winters), but it’s also my birthday month. The prospect of turning 26 is slightly terrifying, but I can’t wait to celebrate!

January was my first full month at my new job, and I’m so excited that I can finally say that I work in publishing! I started as a Social Media Marketing Coordinator for Harlequin just before Christmas, and I absolutely love it so far!

I also received my final grades this month – I finished my post-graduate studies in Digital Media Marketing with Honours and my convocation will be in June! I can’t believe how quickly my program flew by, but I’m so glad that I decided to go back to school. 🙂

READING PROGRESS

Thanks to my 40 minute commute to work each day, I had a lot of uninterrupted reading time. I was able to finish 6 books, which puts me 2 books ahead of my Goodreads Reading Challenge goal! 4 of these books were backlist titles, 1 was contemporary romance, and all 6 were borrowed from the library.

REVIEWS

The Lover’s Dictionary | 4 stars | A wonderfully creative read filled with poignant observations about all phases of a relationship

The Cruel Prince | 4 stars | I didn’t know how much I wanted a dark faery book filled with treachery and schemes until now

The Bride Test | 3 stars | I didn’t love the romance as much as The Hating Game, but I did like the secondary story about Esme immigrating to America
