Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week, she posts an idea relating to books and encourages other book bloggers to respond with their own top ten lists.
This week’s topic is “top ten books on my fall 2018 TBR list.” I’m used to be terrible at sticking to to-read lists, but thanks to my adorable TBR jar, I’ve gotten a lot better! Here are 10 of the ones that I’m the most excited about:
Shiny Upcoming/New Releases
- Vengeful by V.E. Schwab
- Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor
- City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab
- Circe by Madeline Miller
- Blanca & Roja by Anna-Marie McLemore
Beautiful Backlist Titles
- China Rich Girlfriend by Kevin Kwan
- The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang
- The Lonely Hearts Hotel by Heather O’Neill
- Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
- Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy
What books are on your fall TBR list? Have you read any of the ones on mine? Let me know in the comments below.
I have City of Ghosts on my list too. And then I have Vicious and Strange the Dreamer since the sequels are coming out and I STILL need to read those.

I definitely recommend both of them – Strange the Dreamer was so beautifully written, and Vicious is easily one of my favourite reads from this year. Happy reading!
Circe is beautiful, I hope you enjoy it. I also have Muse of Nightmares on my list.

Thanks, Ellie! I’m very excited to finally give it a read. Happy reading! 🙂
Out of these, I think the only one on my unread shelves is Dumplin’. Blanca & Roja sounds amazing though – and THAT COVER is just stunning. I might just be tempted to get it because of that reason alone but.. I should behave and wait for some reviews to flood in, haha.
Happy reading! 🙂
Here’s my TTT should you be interested in checking it out:
I’ve definitely been guilty of purchasing books solely because of their covers so I won’t judge, haha. Anna-Marie McLemore writes such incredibly beautiful stories (I highly recommend When the Moon Was Ours), so I feel like Blanca & Roja will be just as breathtaking.
I’ve read Dumplin’! It was very body positive on the whole, but I didn’t like it that much because I thought it came across a little shallow at times (though I can’t say more here for fear of giving spoilers). That being said, I will probably read the sequel Puddin’ when I have the time, if only to complete the series.
I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t like it, Cindy. I’ve heard mixed reviews as a whole but figured I should give it a read before the Netflix movie comes out. I hope you enjoy Puddin’ a bit more!
This is a great list – there’s a lot of books on there I haven’t read yet, but want to! Circe has such a beautiful cover!!

Isn’t it pretty? It first made it onto my wishlist just because of the cover. Happy reading!
Grave Mercy is one of my favorite novels. I hope you enjoy it. I also need to red Circe and The Poppy War. Happy reading!
I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it, Alicia! I hope you’re able to read both Circe and The Poppy War soon.
I haven’t read any of these, but I’ve heard good things about all of them. I hope you get a chance to read and enjoy them all.
Thanks, Susan! Happy reading!
Well, I did not know about the OTHER Schwab book, so now I’m all excited for that as well as Vengeful. Blanca and Roja also looks good. I really enjoyed the Grave Mercy series, and Dumplin’ is adorable. My favorite by Murphy is actually Ramona Blue, but they are all good!
I’m really excited for it – I loved her YA series and all of her adult books, so I’m curious to see what a MG Schwab novel is like. I haven’t read Ramona Blue yet, so I’ll definitely have to add it to my TBR!
Oooh, I just read Circe and adored it!
And ahhh, I’ve been hearing such great things about The Poppy War. I need to get around to reading that…
Hope you enjoy all these books! 🙂
I am so tempted to read City of Ghosts by V.E. Schwab, I haven’t read any of her books. I’ll see what you think of it first 🙂
I’m so excited for it! Schwab’s writing has such an addictive quality, so I’m hoping it extends to her MG reads too.
Ahhh I’ve not read Vicious so i really want to pick that up before reading Vengeful! For me I’m super excited for all the creepy Halloween books, The Corset is one I’m very hyped for!
It was so good! I definitely recommend it. I haven’t heard of The Corset but I’m always looking for creepy reads – I’ll have to check it out 🙂
