Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases that are eagerly anticipated.
Dead Girls Don’t Lie by Jennifer Shaw Wolf has an expected publication date of September 17.
Rachel died at two a.m . . . Three hours after Skyler kissed me for the first time. Forty-five minutes after she sent me her last text.
Jaycee and Rachel were best friends. But that was before… before that terrible night at the old house. Before Rachel shut Jaycee out. Before Jaycee chose Skyler over Rachel. Then Rachel is found dead. The police blame a growing gang problem in their small town, but Jaycee is sure it has to do with that night at the old house. Rachel’s text is the first clue—starting Jaycee on a search that leads to a shocking secret. Rachel’s death was no random crime, and Jaycee must figure out who to trust before she can expose the truth.
In the follow-up to her powerful debut, Jennifer Shaw Wolf keeps readers on their toes in another dark, romantic story of murder and secrets.
I absolutely love coming of age tales, so once you throw murder and secrets and lies into the mix, you can guarantee that I’m going to want to read it. The synopsis is giving me a Pretty Little Liars type vibe — and considering how much I love the show, that’s definitely a good thing.
What books are you waiting on this Wednesday? Leave me a list or a link to your post in the comments below.

I hope so too! I figure if more than one person is impatiently waiting on it, it’s bound to be good, right? : )
Sounds like a good mystery, and now that you mention it I feel a PLL vibe too. Hope you love it!
I’ve been catching up on the show, so I’m getting PLL vibes everywhere I look, haha. Thanks, I hope so too!
My review won’t go live until next month (though you can read it on goodreads!), but I. LOVED. this book. Absolutely adored it + my little sister – who definitely is NOT a reader – tore though it. 🙂
Thanks for the link to your review, I’ll definitely have to check it out. It’s one of the books that’s near the top of my wishlist, so I’m really glad to hear that you and your sister loved it! : )
