Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Bucket List

ttt

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week, she posts an idea relating to books and encourages other book bloggers to respond with their own top ten lists.

This week’s topic is “bookish bucket list.”

1. Work in a bookstore/library during university
I absolutely adored working as a student library page throughout high school, so if I could get a position like that during my university years, that would be wonderful. A bookstore seems like it would be a lot of fun too – especially if I get to have “Erin’s picks” or something like that!

2. Attend a book signing
Rainbow Rowell was in Toronto last semester, and I was heartbroken that I had to miss her signing due to exams. I’ve heard that signings are a lot of fun – and an excellent way to interact with authors and other readers – so attending one is something that I feel I need to do at some point.

3. Review more
I’ve been doing well with reading in my spare time, but I haven’t been reviewing as much as I should have. And it’s not like they were bad books either.

4. Read more classics
I’m slightly ashamed to admit that I’ve never read Pride and Prejudice or The Great Gatsby or very many classics in general. There’s just something so daunting about them, but I would really like to give them a try.

5. Have my own library
I’d love to have a library in my house with spiral staircases, shelves to the ceiling that are lined with books, and those sliding ladders that they have in Beauty and the Beast. And maybe a couple of secret passageways. I probably won’t ever have enough money to implement this, but a girl can dream, right?

6. Read all of the books that I own at least once
There are so many unread books sitting on my bookshelf at home, and yet I keep buying more to read. Eventually, I’d like to have read all of the books on my shelf at least once, if not more than that.

7. Use the Waterloo Public Library
I’ve been going to school in Waterloo for almost two years now, and I just got a library card. (I can’t believe I waited that long either). I’ve been using the DownloadLibrary site to get eBooks, but I would love to actually take out a paperback sometime since I miss the feeling of reading an actual book.

8. Read more middle grade / new adult / adult books
I occasionally read middle grade and adult books, and I’ve yet to really touch the new adult genre, but I spend a lot of time reading YA. While I definitely enjoy the YA genre as a whole, I’d love to expand my reading horizons a bit.

9. Get blurbed
My reviews are definitely nowhere near coherent and eloquent enough for this to actually happen, but how neat would it be to see something you said in a book?

10. Own all of the books on my wishlist
After all, how else am I going to get a library like Belle’s?

What are some of the items on your bookish bucket list?
