Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases that are eagerly anticipated.
This week, I’m waiting on Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson.
The Pre-Sloane Emily didn’t go to parties, she barely talked to guys, she didn’t do anything crazy. Enter Sloane, social tornado and the best kind of best friend—the one who yanks you out of your shell. But right before what should have been an epic summer, Sloane just… disappears. No note. No calls. No texts. No Sloane. There’s just a random to-do list. On it, thirteen Sloane-selected-definitely-bizarre-tasks that Emily would never try… unless they could lead back to her best friend. Apple Picking at Night? Ok, easy enough.Dance until Dawn? Sure. Why not? Kiss a Stranger? Wait… what?
Getting through Sloane’s list would mean a lot of firsts. But Emily has this whole unexpected summer ahead of her, and the help of Frank Porter (totally unexpected) to check things off. Who knows what she’ll find?
Go Skinny Dipping? Um…
I haven’t actually read any of Morgan Matson’s works but I’ve heard nothing but good things about Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour and Second Chance Summer – both of which are on my to-read list. That, plus the fact that the synopsis kind of reminds me of Paper Towns in a way, definitely makes Since You’ve Been Gone one of my more anticipated reads of the year.

Great pick! Morgan Matson totally sucked me in with Amy and Roger’s epic detour so this book is a must for me!
Thank you so much for sharing!
I still haven’t read Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour, but it’s slowly been making its way up my to-read list after all of the positive things I’ve heard about it. 🙂
This sounds like a cute book. I haven’t read any of Morgan Matson either, but I’ve heard wonderful things about the Amy & Roger book. Great pick!

This one is on my list too. I loved Amy & Roger, but Second Chance Summer is on the “Do Not Read” list because of the death/dying thing. I just can’t do it. ~Megan

I’m so glad you enjoyed Amy & Roger! I’ve heard that Second Chance Summer is a tough read because of the cancer part of the storyline, so I’m hoping that the rest of the story balances out all of the tears that that’s going to give me.
this one does sound good! Thanks for sharing!
no problem! I’m glad it intrigued you!
