August 2021: Monthly Wrap-Up

Happy September! In my heart, fall starts today, but in reality, fall is still a few weeks away. That isn’t going to stop me from wearing long pants instead of shorts, though!

I wasn’t as present here as I would have liked to be this month, but I had a really busy August! I was finally able to get a haircut for the first time in almost a year – I was so excited about it that it’s tied with visiting the Andy Warhol exhibit at the AGO for my favourite part of the month.

READING PROGRESS

I read 11 books this month, about half of which were new releases. I finally hit my Goodreads goal, but I’m absolutely not going to increase it since I know I won’t hit whatever the next goal would be.

REVIEWS

  • Perfect on Paper by Sophie Gonzalez | 4 stars | a delightful read with messy teenage emotions and excellent representation
  • People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry | 5 stars | restored my faith in soulmates but also made me cry a lot
  • The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris | 4 stars | a dark, satirical, slow-burn mystery filled with unsettling twists
