Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2021

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week, she posts an idea relating to books and encourages other book bloggers to respond with their own top ten lists.

This week’s topic is “top ten most anticipated releases for the first half of 2021.” It was hard to narrow this down to just 10 books, but here are the upcoming releases that I’m most excited about:

The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon (January 26th)
A romcom where exes give relationship advice live on a radio show is bound to lead to drama, and hopefully a ton of banter.

Hot British Boyfriend by Kristy Boyce (February 9th)
That cover is ridiculously cute, and the synopsis gives me major Anna and the French Kiss vibes.

Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert (March 9th)
Talia Hibbert’s writing is so much fun. I loved both Get a Life, Chloe Brown and Take a Hint, Dani Brown, so I can’t wait to read about the 3rd Brown sister’s adventures!

She’s Too Pretty to Burn by Wendy Heard (March 30th)
Dorian Grey but a sapphic psychological thriller! I’ve seen a few rave reviews already, which makes me even more excited to read this.

Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo (March 30th)
Admittedly, I haven’t read King of Scars yet…. but I am planning to reread all of the Grishaverse novels before the Shadow & Bone series comes out in April!

Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne (April 13th)
The Hating Game was one of my favourite reads of 2018. I didn’t love the follow-up, but Second First Impressions sounds like such a sweet, quirky read.

Witches Steeped in Gold by Ciannon Smart (April 20th)
A Jamaican-inspired fantasy about enemy witches seeking vengeance is, honestly, the perfect premise.

One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston (May 6th)
After how much I loved Red, White & Royal Blue, Casey McQuiston is an a must-read author for me.

The Chosen and the Beautiful by Nghi Vo (June 1st)
A reimagining of The Great Gatsby as a coming-of-age fantasy about a queer Asian-American magician! I need this!

Sisters of the Snake by Sasha & Serena Nanua (June 15th)
An Indian-inspired twin swap/Prince and the Pauper tale. And it’s by two Canadian authors!

What 2021 releases are you most excited to read?
